Residential interior design: layouts, lighting and materials

RAFAK’s home design process starts with daily needs, the existing plan, light and budget, whether for one room, a kitchen or several connected spaces.

Start with how the home is used

Identify what does not work: circulation, storage, lighting or furniture arrangements. Household size, children, older residents, working from home and retained belongings all inform the brief.

Plan furniture and light together

Furniture positions need to fit actual dimensions, doors and windows. A work area and a place to rest have different lighting needs. Kitchens also require early coordination of appliance dimensions and storage access.

Choose materials for everyday life

Cleaning, moisture, repair and maintenance matter alongside appearance. Designs can use economical materials or luxury details. Your priorities help decide where spending will make the most difference.

Agree the design deliverables

Depending on the agreed scope, deliverables may include furniture layouts, colour and material proposals, visualisations or further details. Document types, level of detail and review stages are defined before work starts. A visualisation does not replace fabrication drawings or final site measurements.

Design alone or with renovation

You may commission design separately or discuss renovation and construction too. If another contractor is involved, documents and coordination responsibilities need to be clear. Overseas projects require separate arrangements for local measurements, regulations and technical review.

Prepare an initial brief

Send the country and city, rooms involved, approximate area, photographs and an available plan or hand sketch. Add budget and timing if known. You do not need to buy finishes or select a final style before contacting us.
